贝克特创作出突出“想象力”问题的文学作品,标志着他为当代文学及文学批评所做出的主要贡献。《想象死亡的想象》是贝克特后期创作的一部重要作品。本文通过贝克特典型的边界隐喻来展示他凭借语言和叙事的美学文本侵入内心边界的冒险旅程和他描绘的心灵景观。由于贝克特厌恶意义过剩,他自娱的主要方式便是锤炼文本反映自身内容缺失、中心缺场的过程。这就允许我们认为“死亡的想象”是贝克特刻画心灵的微观世界或头盖骨内部的美学或文本原则。在这个意义上,《想象死亡的想象》再现了死亡的想象的虚无,发展了一种能够呈现虚空图像这一悖论的语言,创造出了一种摹仿坠入想象的风格。
Beckett’s literary works highlighting the issue of “imagination” symbolize his major contribution to contemporary literary and literary criticism. Imagining the Imagination of Death is an important piece of Beckett’s later work. By Beckett’s typical metaphor of borders, this article shows his adventurous journey through the aesthetical language of language and narcotics into the inner boundary and the spiritual landscape that he depicts. Since Beckett disliked the excess of meaning, the main way he entertained himself was that the tempered text reflected the absence of its content and the absence of the center. This allows us to think that “the imagination of death” is Beckett’s aesthetic or textual principle that portrays the inner world of the mind or the skull. In this sense, Imagination Imagine recreates the illusion of death, develops a paradoxical language capable of presenting a void image, and creates a style in which imitation falls into imagination.
