美国不仅拥有强大的经济、军事和科技力量,还通过文化软实力竞争来取得文化霸权,宣扬其价值观和意识形态。美国采用的语言推广政策可以归为教育、经济和传媒三个方面。研究美国的海外英语推广政策,对于开展我国对外汉语教学和文化推广活动具有一定的启示作用。
The United States not only possesses powerful economic, military and technological forces, but also obtains cultural hegemony through cultural and soft power competitions and promotes its values and ideology. The language promotion policy adopted by the United States can be classified as education, economy and media. Studying the promotion policy of overseas English in the United States has a certain enlightenment on the development of teaching Chinese as a foreign language and promotion of culture in our country.
