Using the 3D animation software 3DSTUDIO, the surface material properties of the simulated object are edited and a more realistic material library is established. The new level preparation process of two schemes of different height excavation in the deep open pit mine is simulated. The simulation shows that it is feasible to prepare the mining sequence with the new level of two schemes
