“在乡土社会中,每个人不论贫贱,在世间有一个位份,有一种岁月静好的贵气和底气。在中国古代,士农工商形成了一个有序的社会结构。在不同的时期,从事传统工艺的人群分别隶属于不同的阶层、社会组织和文化结构。过去100多年来,‘工’这个阶层逐渐缩减并融入到现代社会结构中,直到今天,它的位份还没有完全找到。工匠精神的丢失过程,从社会学的意义来说,就是一个失序、失范、失位的过程。传统工艺的振兴,实际上就是重新寻找工匠恰当位份的过程。”—陈岸瑛
