Commentary, intervention and comment intervention are three important concepts of narratology research. However, there are ambiguities in the application of these three concepts in academia at present. In addition to commenting on this route of intervention, there are many other ways in which interventions can be introduced, such as the introduction of potential readers or narrative recipients. Although there are both explicit and implicit comments and interventions, the two have different standards of judgment. The former takes its interpretation of the context of the text as the standard and the latter as the standard of whether the narrator breaks the story or not. Commentary Intervention is any narrator’s intervention by comment or explanation, whose object of commentary or explanation can be narrative content or narrative form. There are obvious subtleties in the comment intervention. The implicit comment intervention is of great significance to modern literary works and should attract more attention from the academic circles.
