主持人语 美术批评如果没有明确的观念和合理的方法作指导,就不可能上升到一个学术的高度,从而只能是感性的、浅层次的,这样的批评会缺乏深度和力度。因此,关于美术批评的理论建设是一个重要课题,鉴于此,我刊第九期《观察家》栏目对此作了讨论。批评的实践离不开理论的指导,理论的建设也必须结合批评的实践,二者互为存在的前提,互为提高和发展的必要条件。相比较而言,批评的实践更加直接面对现实,因而需要更加敏锐的直觉,还有更大的勇气,它直接干预现实,对现实起到正反两方面的影响,其作用显而易见。在目前美术批评不是很活跃的情况下,一些能够大胆提出问题、抨击不良倾向的批评尤其需要鼓励和提倡。它们一方面在美术创作方面引起争鸣,为美术创作的提高和发展提供养料,另一方面也为美术批评理论建设积累大量的第一手资料,这些“监床性”的经验资料是美术批评理论获得发展的必要条件。我们在此编发了几篇批评文章,尽管作者的观点不同,关注的问题不一,而且所论也许仅为一家之言,甚或所持见解亦有可商榷处,但是其精神和勇气都是我们应该予以嘉肯的,这种精神和勇气就是我们美术批评事业赖以生存和发展的根本所在。
