This article gives an overview of the status quo and trends in the world of automobiles and fuels. Including two-, three-, and four-wheel trucks, the number of cars powered by petroleum fuel in the world is estimated to be about 600 million vehicles in 1992 and about 750 million vehicles in 2000. In 2010, it was about 910 million vehicles; the corresponding fuel consumption was 17.5×108 tons, 20×108 tons, and 25×108 tons. With the gradual increase of vehicle and fuel consumption, environmental protection issues have become more prominent. The management of the steam exhaust has been going on for several decades, and many engine improvements have previously been started. Recently, improved fuels have been proposed, and new products such as clean fuels and adjusted fuels have emerged. Rio controls greenhouse gas emissions after the meeting and the United States proposes a new air policy, which will benefit the human environment. In the next ten years, the growth of vehicles will be the fastest in developing countries. Clean fuels, such as fuels and gas fuels, are environmentally-friendly fuels and will surely be developed.
