特别空勤团(英文缩写SAS)是英军特种部队中最杰出的一支。在美国对阿富汗的军事行动中,英国首当其冲地派出了特别空勤团,在阿富汗进行情报侦察等活动。与以往的行动一样,英国特别空勤团队员在阿富汗采取的是4人一组的活动方式。自第22特别空勤团于20世纪50年代初重新组建以来,4人侦察小组一直是该团的基本作战单位。作为最小的和完全独立的作战单位,4人侦察小组是现代特别空勤团的核心行动单元。4人侦察小组是英国特别空勤团的最大特色。
Special Air Corps (SAS abbreviation) is one of the most outstanding British special forces. In the U.S. military operations against Afghanistan, Britain sent the first special air force regiment to carry out intelligence reconnaissance and other activities in Afghanistan. As in the past, the special aviation team members in the United Kingdom adopted a 4-person approach to activities in Afghanistan. Since the special 22nd special regiment reconstructed in the early 1950s, the 4-man reconnaissance group has been the group's basic combat unit. As the smallest and completely independent combat unit, the 4-man reconnaissance team is the core unit of action for the Special Airways Mission. 4-man reconnaissance team is the most important feature of the British special air services.
