Boston, United States: Recent Leuprolide multicenter studies have shown that gynecologists can delay or avoid hysterectomy in patients with young uterine fibroids. Leuprolide is a 9-amino acid pituitary receptor agonist. It first increases the production of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) for 1-3 weeks, then decreases the content and secretion of two hormones, resulting in no stimulation of the ovary.
