Toni Morrison, winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1993, was the first African American woman writer to receive this award and has published nine works to date. In the dominating world of patriarchal sisters, sistership is the double guarantee of the majority of black women seeking survival and development. Sisterhood is also depicted in the book Love: Sister and Christine’s sisterhood, L and the sisterhood of Coccyna, highlight Morrison’s need for a sisterhood of black women under patriarchy and Rethinking the importance of this theme.
