回回究竟最早于何时入居宁夏?史书上并无明确记载,史学界对这一问题的看法也各有不同。根据我们初步进行调查及将各种史书上的记载对照研究的结果,我们认为比较可靠的说法是:回回大量入居宁夏的时间,当在元初。但在北宋、西夏时期,宁夏地区已大体可以肯定有信仰伊斯兰教的回回“先民”,留居下来。其历史上的发展演变情况大致为:元初为大量入居时期;元、明两代为发展繁衍时期;清初宁夏回回民族已发展得人口相当众多,对宁夏回族影响最大的是清同治年间的回族反清起义。目前宁夏地区回族分布的情况,基本上是在同治年间经过战争、编管迁移的基础上,重新发展繁衍起来的。
Back to the earliest When to live in Ningxia? History books are not clearly documented, the views of historians on this issue are also different. According to the results of our preliminary investigation and comparison of records recorded in various historical books, we think the more credible one is that the time to return a large number of people to settle in Ningxia is in the early Yuan Dynasty. However, during the Northern Song and Xixia periods, Ningxia had generally confirmed the return of “ancestors” who believed in Islam and stayed behind. The history of the evolution of the general situation are as follows: the early Yuan Dynasty was a large number of dwelling period; Yuan and Ming dynasties for the development and reproduction period; early Qing Dynasty Ningxia Hui nationality has developed quite large population, the greatest impact on the Hui people in Ningxia is the Hui Anti-Qing Uprising. At present, the distribution of Hui nationalities in Ningxia is basically re-developed and multiplied on the basis of the war and the relocation of the Tongzhi regime.
