新疆土地面积166万平方公里,其中62%是荒漠,生态与环境极其脆弱、由于近几年自然因素和人为破坏,新疆土地范围内部出现了不同程度的土地退化。在生态上由于土地退化造成生态的服务功能降低、生物多样性减少、土地荒漠化加剧及各类生态系统抵御和调控灾害的能力的下降、农民贫困程度加深。在这种背景下、GEF-OP12项目的启动对新疆无疑是雪中送炭。一方面项目资金可以有力支持新疆防治土地退化工作的开展,另一方面给我们提供了一种治理生态问题的先进方法和全新理念[1]。新疆GEF土地退化防治网以新疆土地退化信息资源为基础,专题研究成果为推广、技术服务、科学普及为重点。以先进的数字化信息处理方法为手段,建设新疆土地退化防治网络平台,发布新疆土地退化检测评价信息,收集完善更新新疆土地退化防治元数据库,建立网上发布系统平台,为新疆经济社会又好又快发展和生态环境改善多作贡献。
Xinjiang has a land area of 1.66 million square kilometers, of which 62% is desert. Its ecology and environment are extremely fragile. Due to the natural factors and man-made damage in recent years, land degradation in different areas has occurred in Xinjiang. Ecologically, peasants’ poverty has deepened because of ecological degradation of service functions due to land degradation, biodiversity loss, aggravated desertification and the ability of various ecosystems to resist and control disasters. In this context, the start of the GEF-OP12 project is undoubtedly the best in Xinjiang. On the one hand, the project funds can strongly support the prevention and control of land degradation in Xinjiang, on the other hand, it provides us with an advanced approach to ecological problems and a new concept [1]. Xinjiang GEF Land Degradation Prevention and Control Network based on land degradation information resources in Xinjiang, thematic research results for the promotion, technical services, science popularization. With the advanced digital information processing method as a means to build a network platform for Xinjiang’s land degradation prevention and control, release of land degradation assessment evaluation information in Xinjiang, collect and update the Xinjiang Land Degradation Prevention and Control Metadata Database, establish an online publishing system platform for Xinjiang’s economic and social good and fast Development and improvement of ecological environment to make more contributions.
