由于种种缘故,抗战时期敌后战场文学缺少系统而全面的梳理与研究,这同文学史及抗战史历史还原的要求不符。全面抗战爆发后,中共适时调整文艺政策,适应抗战需求的文艺团体纷纷成立,边区及根据地积极办学,加速培养抗战急需的人才,大批文艺工作者走上敌后战场。书写敌后战场作品较多的是身在边区与根据地、敌后战场部队的文艺工作者。根据地干部与敌后战场官兵亦有不少创作。不同身份、不同视角、不同文体、不同风格,共同描绘出敌后战场的宏伟画卷。敌后战场文学不仅内涵深厚博大,如实地反映了抗战的历史真实,向世界传达出民族脊梁雄壮而坚韧的生命脉息,为历史留下确凿的记忆,而且在审美的民族化、大众化、多样化方面有了长足的进步,表现出区别于正面战场文学与大后方文学的独特风采。
