香港文化一向包括东方传统的本有特质,以及西方外来的直接影响。异质元素不断的冲撞,有激烈的对抗、有多种方式交融,交融中又有调协或不调协。第二次世界大战结束后,香港画坛既有土生土长的,又有不同时期到此定居的艺术家,各具背景与造诣,他们的集分与交流,形成了香港画界的各门各派。新一代出自数间学院,师生传授,留外归来,迩近移民,更有外籍人士,壮大了香港画坛。我属于战前出生的一代,自幼随父母来港定居,也曾旅寓外国,长期以来,飘泊在中国管制的土地之外,一向自视为游子。
Hong Kong culture has always included the intrinsic qualities of oriental traditions as well as the direct external influence of the West. Continuous collision of different elements, there is fierce confrontation, there are many ways to blend, there is harmony in mediation or not mediation. After the end of World War II, the Hong Kong painting and calligraphy exhibition possessed both background and accomplishments from artists born and raised in different periods. Their collection and exchange formed the various factions in Hong Kong’s painting circle. The new generation from several colleges, teachers and students to teach, to stay abroad, near immigrants, more foreigners, expanding the Hong Kong painting scene. I belonged to a generation born before the war. Since I came to settle in Hong Kong with my parents and lived in foreign countries for a long time, I have long regarded myself as a wanderer outside the land controlled by China.
