甚至连让她在2008年爆红的热门歌曲《I Kissed A Girl》和《Ur So Gay》都极具争议性。

  A Different Side

Katy Perry is on top of the world, and why wouldn’t she be? Since the 1)pastor’s daughter first “kissed a girl” she’s been more “hot than cold”, and now the “california gurl” is here to promote her new album, Teenage Dream.
Host: This “Teenage Dream” video of yours, …
  Katy: Yes!
Host: Gee whiz, it’s pretty full on, innit?
Katy: It’s sexy, yeah. It was nice to do something totally different than the “California Gurls,” I mean, all this is fun. Whooo, you know? But I think it was nice to show off and know a whole different side.
Host: Is there a line you wouldn’t cross?
Katy: I think I am one of those girls that, like, plays with the art of the tease, and I definitely push the limits of that tease. Sometimes, like, my mother, I’ll talk to her and she’ll just 2)groan. She’ll, “Oy vay,” you know, like, “Oohh, Katy,” but generally, you know, they’re very 3)supportive and loving, as a family.
Host: Now this fiancé of yours, …
  Katy: Yes.
Host: …what can you tell us? We promise we won’t tell. We love Russell here.
Katy: Well, we are very excited. I love him, and I guess I probably won’t give you too much information, but I know I get really girly, when I, when I talk about it. Everything’s going splendid, he’s a total bridezilla.
Host: Well, you’ve tamed the beast, you know, and he’s obviously tamed you.
  Katy: He’s not “the beast.”
Host: Well, then he was. He was a bit of a party boy.
Katy: He…you know…I always…everyone says, “How did you tame him?” and it’s not about taming, it’s about timing.
Host: You didn’t, just sort of, succumb to his charms?
Katy: No, I’m not that kind of girl. I’m a classy lady…even though I’m naked on a cotton candy cloud.

  A Little Success 成功说

Lisa: Hey everyone, I’m Lisa Nova and this is the beautiful, talented and amazing Katy Perry.
  Katy: Thank you.
Lisa: We are in New York City, and Katy is gonna answer your questions. “Has anyone who never liked you come 4)crawling back to you after becoming famous?”
Katy: Oooooh, good question. Yeah, the change, the whole change that happens after you’re in…you have a little bit of success. I kinda really went through that, ’cause I moved to Los Angeles when I was 17, and I wasn’t really invited different places that some other friends were, ’cause they didn’t think I was cool enough, and then finally, when I got my big break, it was, like, you know, there was no waiting in line, and I was just like, I remember that—I’m not gonna come to your party anymore or I’m not gonna just let you ride the coattails. But I have really good friends, thank God, and I’ve had them for a long time, and they’re having just as much fun, you know, on this 5)insane 6)roller coaster as I am, and I get to go back to 7)Santa Barbara all the time. I reconnected, like, with old best friends, and we were all just so happy to be reconnected.
Lisa: Awright, this is your final question.
  Katy: OK.
Lisa: It is a video question.
Girl: (via video) Katy, I just wanna say that I think you are an amazing singer, and I just wanna know what sort of advice would you give an aspiring singer or actress?
Katy: Umm, OK, well, there’s a few things that I really adopted as my 8)mottoes. One is, “Never take ‘no’ for an answer: really have to believe in yourself.” Obviously sometimes that’s hard, like when you watch American Idol auditions or X-Factor auditions, and you see these people that are, like, “Are you kidding me?” I mean sometimes some people need to just break it to you a little bit, …
  Lisa: Right.
Katy: …and stop, like, wasting your whole life, and maybe you have another talent. But really, I started out just playing an instrument, which is really helpful because it helps you to be able to interpret, and then I went to the newspapers in Los Angeles and I would look for open mikes and cafés that would just let anybody show up and play the guitar and sing and try out new songs. You know, just kind of through those type of events, you just meet lots of people.
But, I think there are some certain key things that have to happen. It’s…first you’ve gotta have the talent, then you gotta be prepared, and then hopefully you’ll meet the opportunity that will breed success.
I just think that, like, everybody is gifted and talented in their own way, whether it be singing or acting: it doesn’t even have to be that, they can, you know, find the cure for something. And, you know, people need all kinds of different people, not just singers and actors, but I wish anybody luck, because it is really hard, you know, to really rise to the top.
