This paper provides an approximate analytical solution to the increase and decrease of groundwater in island-shaped infinite aquifers under constant recharge and evaporation conditions. These solutions are obtained by using the Grinisky potential and Dupuit assumptions, and these results are obtained in a dimensionless form. These solutions can be used to make long-term and short-term forecasts of the groundwater table for identifying, evaluating and managing freshwater island areas.
