In general, young people suffer from cancer, and their prognosis is worse than that of the middle-aged and the elderly. However, in fact it is not the case. It even leads to the opposite conclusion. Recently, a survey of 61,769 colon cancer patients in Sweden found that the 5-year survival rate of colon cancer patients under the age of 40 was 62%, while the 5-year survival rate was only 44% in patients over the age of 40. In another observation of rectal cancer, similar conclusions were also drawn. In this regard, the possible explanation is that young people have a large proportion of carcinoid tumors in their colon pain, but in general, they think that young people have cancer.
