长期酗酒对中枢神经系统的影响,过去十年已有充分认识。由于酒精具有亲脂性,而极易透过血脑屏障,因此,中枢神经系统对其急性中毒反应是熟知的。虽然认为滥用酒精会导致大脑新皮质神经元弥漫性脱失,但是有关病理学还知之甚少。为此,作者试图采用立体学技术来计算长期饮酒者大脑新皮质神经元的总数,旨在证明长期饮酒可使新皮质神经元脱失。 选择丹麦18所医院4年(1986~1990)间长期嗜酒者55例尸检获得大脑组织。均具有严重而长期过度饮酒史、符合酒精中毒DSM—m—R诊断
The effects of chronic alcohol abuse on the central nervous system have been well recognized over the past decade. Because alcohol is lipophilic and easily penetrates the blood-brain barrier, the central nervous system is well known for its acute toxic response. Although alcohol abuse is thought to cause diffuse loss of neocortical neurons in the brain, little is known about the pathology. To this end, the authors attempt to calculate the total number of neocortical neurons in the long-term drinkers using stereotactic techniques in order to prove that long-term alcohol consumption can lead to the loss of neocortical neurons. Fifty-five autopsies of long-term alcoholics among 18 hospitals in Denmark for 4 years (1986-1990) were selected to obtain brain tissue. Both have severe and long-term excessive drinking history, consistent with alcoholism DSM-m-R diagnosis
