曹安和 1929年毕业于北京国立师范大学,长期从事琵琶演奏及民族音乐理论研究,擅长琵琶,是三四十年代乐坛上仅见的琵琶女演奏家和教师。根据其实际演奏经验整理编辑了琵琶独奏曲《十面埋伏》、《霸王卸甲》、《青莲乐府》、《夕阳箫鼓》,选辑了《民族乐器独奏曲选》;曾与杨荫浏合编《文板十二曲》、《管乐曲集》、《苏南吹打乐》、《关汉卿四种乐谱》、《西厢记四种乐谱选曲》;与杨荫浏、储师竹合编《阿炳曲集》;与杨荫浏、简其华合编《弦索十三套》;与杨荫浏、文彦合编《单弦牌子由选》及《单弦牌子曲资料集》等。
