The Victorian government has announced that the government will provide full compensation for everyone diagnosed with HIV. To date, 110 confirmed diagnoses will each receive 200,000 Australian dollars in free treatment during their lifetime, and the total will reach 3.5 to 4 million Australian dollars. The Victorian government was led by the Australian government in the west. In May 1991, it provided $280,000 to each of the 22 HIV-infected people in the state. The New South Wales government is considering a parliamentary report that puts 50,000 Australian dollars per person for 350 people who have been infected with HIV due to blood transfusions or blood products.
