19世纪英国女性作家夏洛蒂.勃朗特的代表作《简.爱》塑造了两个性格、命运决然不同的女主人公:简.爱与伯莎.梅森。简.爱追求独立与自我实现,最终被男权中心话语所控制,成为了“家里的天使”。伯莎.梅森勇于挑战男权中心话语,追求与男性平等的女性自我,却没逃脱被男权所迫害的命运,并付出了生命的代价。简.爱与伯莎.梅森的抗争与无奈是女性同胞所共同承受的命运,她们都脱离不了不平等与男性的“他者”境况。
19th century British female writer Charlotte Bronte’s masterpiece “Jane Eyre” shaped two character, different fate of the heroine Jane: love and Bertha Mason. Jane, who pursued independence and self-realization, was ultimately dominated by the Patriarchal discourse and became “an angel at home.” Bertha Mason courage to challenge the Patriarchal Center discourse, the pursuit of women’s equality with men, but did not escape the fate of persecution by the patriarchal, and paid the price of life. Jane: Love and Bertha Mason’s struggle and frustration are the common destiny of females, who are inseparable from the “other” situation of inequality and males.
