上海航空股份有限公司(以下简称“上航”)推行六西格玛从导入阶段起已有七年多了。周赤董事长2000年在美国通用电气(GE)公司培训中心第一次接触到六西格玛管理观念和知识,在同GE管理专家的深度交流中逐步形成了明确的认识和工作思路,从而开始有计划地在上航导入和推行六西格玛管理。周赤董事长曾经用4句话来描述六西格玛这一概念:
