教育,是一个国家兴旺的标记,也是一个民族的希望。西藏、新疆地处祖国边疆,由于历史条件等因素,教育资源与内地相比存在着差距。举办内地西藏班和新疆班,利用内地发达地区的经济、教育优势,加大对边疆民族地区教育支援,是党中央、国务院为加快边疆各民族人才培养步伐而做出的重要战略决策,更是我国民族教育史上的一项创举。在党中央的号召下,全国经济发达省区积极响应,纷纷把办好西藏班、新疆班作为民族工作的一项要务。
