In the Spring Festival of 1990, a large daffodil sculpture named “Running Horse” (aka “Horse of the Divine Wild,” see this issue’s color page) won the award for “The First Narcissus Engraving Arts Grand Prix in Zhangzhou City” The first prize plus excellent award, attracted a praise. This piece of work uses the lines of daffodils’ scales (slices) to fully outline the strong muscles and rough lines of white horses, revealing the meaning of the horse’s vacancy and success.
