美国小说家赛珍珠的《大地》以及戏剧家苏珊·格拉斯佩尔的《琐事》分别为我们塑造了两位深受男权主义统治思想束缚的女性角色:阿兰及米妮·赖特。她们在努力摆脱各种束缚,争取实现个人自由和个人价值的过程中,采取了截然不同的态度及做法。然而,无一例外,作为那一时代女性的代言人,她们两者都为我们展示出了当时女性主义意识觉醒的萌芽。
The “earth” of the American novelist Pearl S. Buck and the “trivia” of the dramatist Susan Glaser respectively shape two female characters that are closely bound by the ideology of patriarchal: Alan and Minnie Wright. In their efforts to get rid of all kinds of shackles and strive for personal liberty and personal worth, they adopted completely different attitudes and practices. However, without exception, as the spokesperson for women in that era, both of them showed us the seeds of the awakening of feminist consciousness at the time.
