词汇是语言的三大要素(语音,词汇,语法)之一,是语言的建筑材料。离开词汇,语言就失去了实际意义。因此语言教学离不开词汇教学,一般的说,学生掌握词汇的多少,是衡量其英语水平的标准之一。著名的语言学家Wilkins说:“Without grammar very little can be conveyed,without vocabulary nothing can be conveyed.”由此可见,词汇教学在语言教学中占有多么重要的地位。《普通高中英语课程标准(实验)》(教育部,2003)中明确
