舞蹈表演是舞蹈演员以其掌握的舞蹈动作、造型和技巧能力,结合音乐和美术等艺术手段,将作品的思想内容转化为可视可感的舞蹈形象,是舞蹈演员对舞蹈编排艺术构思的创造性舞台体现。舞蹈演员应具备较全面的艺术素养、创造性和表现力。因此,在舞蹈教学中应加强舞蹈表演基本训练,包括舞蹈表演基础知识和基本理论教育、心理素质和体验技巧训练、表演技能训练、感觉训练、观察生活和积累生活的能力训练、艺术思维和艺术创造的能力训练、成品训练等。教师要研究每一个舞蹈表演元素和技术方法,有效地进行系统的表演基本功训练,寻求最佳训练途径和手段,培养学生创造角色形象的能力,提高学生的舞蹈表演水平。
