历时两个月修编的家谱终于付梓了,我深深地舒了一口气。回想家谱的修编过程,真是一言难尽。我家曾祖父清光绪二十二年(1896年)就在江苏东台开办木行,算得上是东台的老字号木行了,《东台文博》也有记载。曾祖父生有四子四女,经过不断繁衍,造就了今天200余人的大家族。由于家族中不少长辈、同辈和晚辈都在外地工作、定居,平常很难聚到一起,亲情难免不疏远,甚至一家人不识一家人。叔父八十大寿宴请族中亲戚时,平辈中我就有近半数的不熟悉,别说晚辈了。

Twenty-two years of our great-grandfather Qing Emperor Guangxu (1896) set up the Woodstock in Jiangsu Dongtai, be regarded as the old name of Dongtai, and “Dongtai Wenbo” also recorded. Great-grandfather had four sons and four daughters, after continuous multiplication, created a large family of more than 200 people today. Due to the fact that many elders, peers and juniors in the family are working in the field and settling down, it is often difficult to get together and their relatives are inevitably estranged. Even the family members do not know a family. Eighty-year-old uncle’s birthday relatives in the family, I have nearly half of the average are not familiar with, let alone the younger generation.
