Philosophy of experience is the watershed between the first and the second generation of cognitive linguistics. The first generation of cognitive linguists, represented by Chomsky, believed that concept, mind, and reasoning are merely objective and mirror images of nature, autonomous and independent of human experience. The second generation of cognitive linguists represented by Johnson and Lakoff think that thinking, reasoning, concepts and meanings are all based on experience. Its philosophy is based on experiential philosophy and experiential language. This article treats the experience of language through the experience of the vocabulary in the language.
