在过去的20年内,理科教育中情感因素的研究已经受到许多从事理科教育的研究人员的重视.1976—1983年间,近200多个研究考察了理科教育中的情感因素.这一领域中日益增长的兴趣其重要的基础是这一信念:情感因素和认知因素一样重要,它们都是学校教育的重要成果,而且它还影响着学习的结果、职业的选择、业余时间的利用等等.此外,之所以重视情感的因素还因为人们普遍相信现代的工业化社会需要具有全面的科技素质的公民.
