商洛地区位于陕西省东南部,与鄂、豫两省相接。境内群山起伏,沟壑纵横,西北东高南低。区内总面积为19292平方公里,以蟒岭为界,北属黄河流域,面积2562平方公里,占面积的12.7％;南为长江流域,面积16730万亩,占总面积76％。现有林地1420万亩占总面积49.1％。牧荒地799.7万亩。河谷川道占5.2％、浅山丘陵占54.2％、深山区占30％。耕地及河流各占10％,有“八山一水一分田”之称。我区河流、沟溪达7万余条。多年平均径流总量为54.91亿立方米,地层水储量约1亿立方米,水力资源可开发利用的32万千瓦。本区年降雨量600～1000毫米,7、8、
