粉末冶金是不经熔炼和铸造,而用金属经粉碎、压制、烧结而获得零件的方法。故亦称为金属粉末制造(可渗入非金属)。由于其原料可应轧钢氧化铁鳞及铸铁切屑等廢料,而且压制烧结后一般又不进行其他加工,所以能大大减少金属消耗,节约制造工时,并可制造具有特殊性能的制品。因此粉末冶金是近代发展很快的一种新工艺。目前国外已应用到电气仪表、纺织机械、轴承、活塞环等零件制造上,我国各地目前也在迅速发展。
