The authors have shown in dynamic experiments that vitamin D inhibits antibody production when immunized with thymus-dependent and non-thymus-dependent antigens, inhibits PHA-stimulated lymphocyte transformation and suppresses the development and progression of adjuvant arthritis. T Cell, B cell-mediated immune system activity are inhibited. In contrast, vitamin D on some non-specific resistance indicators, such as complement, lysozyme, serum non-specific bactericidal activity significantly stimulated.
