1994年12月22日14时20分,一列满载宾客,被外国人称作“中国的子弹列车”的新型豪华客车。徐徐从深圳东站开出,不久便向广州方向飞奔,昔日需要行驶两个多小时的距离,而这趟列车仅用了68分钟。至此,我国自行设计、施工的第一条准高速铁路——广深线胜利建成通车。它的胜利建成,实现了我国高速铁路“零”的突破,标志着我国铁路现代化建设迈入了一个崭新的阶段。“广深准高速铁路的建成,为加快我国改革开放步伐,加快广东经济的进一步发展,将产生深远的影响”。
