浅草—沉钟社同仁在人道主义伦理观的指导下,从“为人生”的艺术功能观出发,关注着他们生存其间的都市世界。在前期活动中,同仁们对都市题材作过比较广泛的探索,他们关注过都市知识分子的境遇,也描写过在都市中挣扎求生的其他下层人物的生活,视野显得比较宽阔,但也存在着概念化的痕迹和浅尝辄止的现象。在后期都市题材的创作中,他们调整了反映生活的焦距,把焦点集中在他们有着丰厚积累和深切体验的知识分子题材上,使之成为都市斑驳光影中的基本色调,既真实地写出了他们的生活窘境,又深入地揭示了他们的精神创伤,既对他们表示了深切的同情,又对黑暗社会进行了深沉的控诉,较好地实现了主观思想和客观生活二者之间的融合与统一,并因此形成了其表现都市题材作品的创作特色。
