Atlanta, GA, USA: Researchers at Emory University completed their first pregnancy by cutting a hole in the human egg protective membrane to allow the weaker motile sperm to enter. The new microsurgery, called incomplete zonation (PZD), offers hope to couples with serious male fertility problems. This is the first person who has completed a human pregnancy with a needle puncture or enzyme-protective ovoid outer protective film, the zona pellucida.
