卡粉是一种典型的赤铁矿粗粉,铁品位高达65.1％,其他有害元素含量低,磨矿功指数仅为11 kW·h/t.淡水河谷球团厂生产实践表明:卡粉极易研磨,可提高磨矿系统的产量,并提高研磨后产品的比表面积;磨矿后的卡粉具有优异的成球性,可降低膨润土用量和造球水分,减少生球在干燥预热过程中粉末的产生,改善料层传质传热条件,提高热能利用效率,从而降低工序能耗;还可以提高台时产量,改善球团矿质量.
