武昌车辆工厂试制、生产的UCZ—650型三角活塞转子发动机和一吨叉式车,有不少零件需用18CrMnTi、20Cr、40Cr、45号钢、A_3钢、NiCrMoCu合金铸铁和MoCuV球墨铸铁等材料制造。这些零件,要求有较高的表面硬度、耐磨性能和疲劳强度,以往采用渗碳、高频等淬火工艺实现。由于有的零件形状复杂,存在变形、开裂和淬火不匀等问题,影响产品的质量。从1974年开始,在30瓩离子氮化炉上对上述材料的零件进行氮化处理的试验工作。
