Introduction Fluorescent lamps are widely used for the reading of information machines such as facsimile, PPC, image scanning, etc., light sources for discharge exposure, and illumination light for liquid crystal displays. In these applications, light sources that are insensitive to temperature changes are required because the temperature rise inside the machine caused by the heat of the fluorescent lamp itself and the heat generated by other components can affect the light output of the fluorescent lamp light source.
