传统课程一向比较注重集体主义观念的培养,提倡个人需要服从集体,维护集体荣誉,但是针对个人的道德教育则不够重视。德育是教育者根据一定社会受教育者的需要,遵循品德形成的规律,采用言传、身教等有效手段,通过内化和外化的途径,发展受教育者的思想、政治、法制和道德几方面素质的系统活动过程。这种从思想、政治、品德上培养教育人的活动是人类社会的一种客观存在,古今中外都有,只是在不同国家、不同历史阶段称谓有所不同而已。
