摆手活动是土家族最大的民俗文化活动,也是土家族区别于其他民族的显著文化标志之一,摆手舞与劳动和社会实践相互关联,它是土家族漫长的历史阶段里社会生活发展的缩影,它在土家族的劳动生活中担任着重要的功能,而劳动则在不同的时代里不断的推进摆手舞的演变。
Tujia is one of the largest folk activities in Tujia ethnic group and one of the significant cultural symbols of Tujia ethnic group from other ethnic groups. It is related to labor and social practice. It is a microcosm of social life in the long history of Tujia. It plays an important role in the laboring life of the Tujia people, while labor constantly advances the dance of waved music in different times.
