火把节是所有彝族地区的传统节日,流行于云南、贵州、四川等彝族地区。白、纳西、基诺、拉祜等族也过这一节日。火把节多在农历六月二十四或二十五日举行,节期三天。佳节之前,各家都要准备食品,在节日里纵情欢聚,放歌畅饮。火把节期间,各村寨以干松木和松明子扎成大火把竖立寨中,各家门前竖起小火把,入夜点燃,村寨一片通明。同时人们手持小型火把成群结队行进在村边地头、山岭田埂间,将火把、松明子插于田间地角。远处望去,火龙映天,蜿蜒起伏,十分动人。最后青年男女会聚广场,将许多火把堆成火塔,火焰熊熊,人们围成一圈,唱歌
