草原一号豌豆,系我院土肥所1964年于黄羊试验农场,由草原绿色豌豆中单株系选育成。1965年以来分别在黄羊、张掖、泾川等地进行试验、示范,生长习性及其经济性状良好,适应性广,抗逆性强,宜于我省冬、春麦地区种植利用的一个豌豆新品种。草原一号豌豆,株高80～100公分,蔓生性状稍强,叶轴末端有卷须,花白色,叶肥厚椭圆浅绿色,分枝性中等;长荚果,每荚内含种子4～5粒,种子圆球形,色姜黄,种脐有黑点,百粒重19～20克;其根系主要分布在5～25公分土层内,根瘤丰硕。
