In the Netherlands, a double-decker asphalt pavement is constructed to reduce freeway noise. In the IPG, the Netherlands implemented a policy to reduce noise to the extreme level and looked for ways to reduce the noise generated by vehicles and tires. The double-decker pavement, a potential noise-reducing pavement material, consists of a thin, thin layer of drainage asphalt and its underlying, thick, rougher drainage asphalt floor, which reduces the noise to 6 dB. In the construction, double-layer drainage asphalt Hot-on-hot method to avoid the upper drainage asphalt pavement cooling. The results of scanning on a double drainage asphalt pavement with a CT scanner show that the transition area determines the penetration performance of the mixed drainage pavement. The article also summarizes the experience of a section of double-dewatering asphalt pavement piloted by Bambois in Belgium.
