化学是自然科学中的一种基本学科,发源于古代的炼金术或炼丹术。炼金术或炼丹术是指用矿石炼出金、银和企图把普通金属变为金、银或“长生丹”的方法,经历了两次革命性的飞跃。第一次是1808年道尔顿(Dalton)提出的原子论,说明了物质的结构,一般认为他是现代化学之父。第二次是1869年门捷列夫(Менделеев)提出的元素周期律,说明了元素性质的规律性。二十世纪以来,化学得到很快的发展,那么是不是会有新的飞跃?回顾过去,展望未来,我们可以肯定地说会有的!大概可以从下面几个方面来看:
