澳门自古就是中国的领土。这个没有资源的地方，近20多年来其生产总值增长率平均每年达9％左右，1997年人均生产总值已达17000美元。澳门回归中国后，将发展成为一个城市功能多元化的区域经济中心，成为促进中国大陆对外经济联络的桥梁和窗口。她是世界东方的又一颗明珠。
Macao has been China’s territory since ancient times. In places without resources, its GDP growth rate has averaged about 9% per annum in the past 20 years or so. In 1997, the per capita GDP reached 17,000 U.S. dollars. After Macao returns to China, it will develop into a city with diversified functions as a regional economic center and become a bridge and window for promoting economic ties with the Mainland. She is another pearl in the east of the world.
