莱西县马连庄公社田家大队,从1981年开始进行苹果低产园的开发工作。经改造后的106亩低产园(其中苹果99亩,梨7亩),两年内平均亩产增加2689斤,增产178%;每亩产值增加658元,果品总收入提高541%。同时,树势由弱变壮,生长结实良好。调查表明,15～17年生的国光树,外围新梢年生长量由20厘米增加到41.8～52.9厘米,花枝率由15%提高到25.5～64.5%。在低产园的改造过程中,他们的主要做法是:
