在美国,用户一直向大硬质合金厂施加压力,要求尽快供货,而且价格要合理。几年来,硬质合金厂为了摆脱这种压力,缩短了供货周期,同意在8～12周内供货,但营业额还是一直下降。于是在IMTS上各厂家都采用了对特殊刀具快速供货的方法。这一点在Sandvik公司和Iscar公司表现得特别明显。如果用户订货在20件以上,那么Sandvik公司在的24小时内就可提供图纸并报价。比如用户提出一份可以用标准刀片改磨的刀片草图,并要求生产厂家按20、50和100片报价时,在7分钟内就可提出图纸,如果要买,10天就可交货。Iscar公司对专门定做的Cut-Grip切槽刀片,也可作出快速反应,价格要贵25％。一般来说,一天之内就可报价,在2～3周内便可交货。Carboly/Seco公司在螺纹和切槽刀片方面可快速交货。Valenite公司把钢产品的特殊定货的交货时间,从12～16周缩短到了4～6周,今年还准备对一些特殊刀片实行快速交货。Ingersoll公司也准备在专用立铣刀、面铣刀、槽铣刀、镗刀、拉刀、齿轮刀具、转位式锯条和其它刀具方面,也要实现快速交货,而且价格合理。
In the United States, users have been exerting pressure on large carbide manufacturers, demanding delivery as quickly as possible and at a reasonable price. Over the past few years, in order to get rid of this pressure and shorten the lead time, the cemented carbide plant has agreed to supply it within 8 to 12 weeks, but the turnover has been decreasing. Therefore, various manufacturers on the IMTS have adopted a method for quickly supplying special tools. This is particularly evident at Sandvik and Iscar. If the user orders more than 20 pieces, Sandvik can provide drawings and quotes within 24 hours. For example, the user proposes a sketch of a blade that can be ground with a standard blade, and asks the manufacturer to submit the drawing in 7 minutes if the price is 20, 50, and 100 pieces. If it is to be bought, it can be delivered within 10 days. Iscar also responds quickly to custom-made Cut-Grip grooving inserts at a price that is 25% more expensive. In general, prices can be quoted within one day, and delivery is possible within 2 to 3 weeks. Carboly/Seco offers quick delivery of threaded and grooving inserts. Valenite shortened the delivery time for special orders for steel products from 12 to 16 weeks to 4 to 6 weeks. This year, it also plans to implement rapid delivery of some special blades. Ingersoll is also preparing for a fast delivery at a reasonable price for special end mills, face mills, slot mills, boring tools, broaches, gear cutters, indexed saw blades and other tools.
