我与董希源相识于1997年。那时,我刚到共青团福建省委工作,听说团省委有一位青年画家,已举办过多次个人画展,颇受业内肯定,我专门去拜访他。他的画室很简陋,但他的人与画并不“简陋”。交谈中发现,他为人内敛稳重,带有“一箪食,一瓢饮,在陋巷,人不堪其忧,回也不改其乐”的情趣。他的画作,贴着古典,就像进入了中国大观园,随处可见山水花鸟等源远流长的意象,有人文的诗意风雅,看着很舒心。交谈中,企盼他有朝一日能把展览办到国外,给全世界的人看。如今看来,他确实在成功的大路上愈走愈扎实了。一晃十余年,2010年相见时,发现随着岁月的流逝,董希源的画技与精神风骨都有了个可喜的质变。他的作品不仅被天安门城楼、人民大会堂采用,而
I met Dong Xiyuan in 1997.
