随着第一次世界大战爆发和五四新文化运动的深入发展,陈独秀对资本主义的认识逐渐深入,他在政治方面批判了西方的议会制度、选举制度;在经济方面批判了资本主义的生产方法、分配方法和资产阶级掠夺工人财产的事实;在文化方面对资本主义的教育、社会道德、宗教等进行了批判。陈独秀对西方社会的批判,为马克思主义在中国的传播起了积极作用。
With the outbreak of the First World War and the further development of the May Fourth New Culture Movement, Chen Duxiu’s understanding of capitalism gradually deepened. He criticized the Western parliamentary system and the election system politically and criticized the economic production of capitalism Methods, methods of distribution and the fact that the bourgeoisie plunder the property of workers; and culturally criticizes capitalist education, social morality and religion. Chen Duxiu’s criticism of Western society played an active role in the spread of Marxism in China.
